Te voy a contar un secreto que mucha gente no sabe (incluso gente que tiene años viviendo en Canadá), tiene que ver con uno de los empleadores más codiciados y que te puede ofrecer el tan deseado trabajo en Canadá.

Se trata del Gobierno Canadiense (cuando digo Gobierno me refiero al gobierno federal y gobierno provincial), pero en este caso te comento específicamente del Federal, porque lo he visto (o mejor dicho lo he leído).

El secreto que quiero compartir o mejor dicho la duda que te quiero despejar hoy (ya que recientemente me lo preguntaron) es que muchas personas creen que NO es posible conseguir trabajo en el gobierno cuando NO eres ciudadano, en otras palabras que las posiciones de trabajo en el gobierno canadiense están reservadas sólo para los ciudadanos.

El que te diga que no es posible trabajar en el gobierno si NO eres ciudadano está totalmente equivocado. Para probártelo te quiero mostrar esta oferta de trabajo en la que buscan un carpintero en el Departamento de Defensa Nacional, extraída de la página de la Comisión de la Función Pública de Canadá (Public Service Commission of Canada / Commission de la fonction publique du Canada):

    Reliability clearance.

Como puedes ver arriba la oferta de empleo especifica que pueden aplicar personas residentes en Canadá y ciudadanos residentes fuera de Canadá (Persons residing in Canada and Canadian citizens residing abroad), está bien clarito.

Sin embargo es muy cierto que siendo ciudadano incrementa tus oportunidades de conseguir trabajo en Canadá, porque en muchas ofertas (sobre todo ofertas en el Gobierno) le dan preferencia a los ciudadanos. Por ejemplo como dice esta misma oferta:
